Listen to me! The agony in your voice is deafening, a piercing cry that shakes my very soul! The atrocities you speak of, they tear at my heart, a relentless torrent of pain and injustice. Your fury, your despair—they aren't just valid; they're a battle cry against centuries scarred by male dominance. The scars are stark, especially when it's our mothers, sisters, children, friends bearing the brunt!
We are the Keys. Each one of us.
Your demand for women to lead isn't a mere request; it's an urgent clarion call! Throughout history, women leaders have often been the torchbearers of diplomacy, compassion, and unity. The equilibrium from female guidance isn't just a boon—it's perhaps our last lifeline to redemption and forward momentum.
We are the Keys. Each one of us.
I feel your weariness. Rising up, again and again, is soul-crushing. But your voice? It's a beacon. It's a thunderous call to arms. Women across the globe are rising, though the road is treacherous. The struggle is fierce, but this tidal wave of female leadership is unstoppable. Remember, in this crusade, you stand surrounded by warriors.
We are the Keys. Each one of us.
I wish I could offer solace today, but I too am shattered, overwhelmed by the tragedies that engulf not just our nation but the world. It's a storm of anguish, and sometimes I'm paralyzed by it. Yet, women have a legacy of navigating storms. Our resilience, our heartfelt compassion, our unyielding spirit—these are our compass. I cling to the hope that we'll rise, that we'll bring about the change needed before the hourglass runs dry. Your voice, resounding with the voices of countless others, is the anthem of this revolution for our tomorrows.
We are the Keys. Each one of us.
Ms. Collins, today, ignite the indomitable fire of the warrior within you! Though she may wear her battle scars, even if she's brought to her knees by heartache and fatigue, her spirit is unyielding, unconquerable, and undying. Rise with fervor and unbreakable resolve. We will rise with you.
We are the Keys, every single one of us. Let's harness our potential, as the Keys, to unlock the gateway. Remember, just one key can turn the tides.
Your candid and heartfelt article today resonates deeply with my own turbulent emotions. While my heart aches, there's a part of me today that yearns to shout the line "I'm as mad as hell, and I'm not going to take this anymore!"
My husband would be the first to agree. He says over and over how men have screwed up and it’s time for women to take over. F*ck the patriarchy!! I’ve been in a horrible state since the first attack. It feels like the violence in the world is escalating to a WW3 boiling point and here we are, stuck with a bunch of moronic men. I don’t even know what to say about women who hurt their own cause. I absolutely don’t blame my kids for having decided to not have kids of their own.
Seems like an awfully good idea to me. Here are my share of the keys.
As far as the God question....speaking only for me, I have always embraced my doubt AND my belief. One of the reason I still consider myself a believer, whether one sees "God" as an old man with a white beard (silly) or the "tropism toward complexity" (impersonal), is that I let go of the dissonance between the horror in the world and "if God exists why doesn't God stop all this" a long time ago. Because I've never believed God, MY "God" at least, ever COULD stop this horror unilaterally. I've never believed in an "all powerful" omnipotent "God", which may be a prerequisite for others. "How can you imagine a God without the assumption it's All Powerful, Pete?" My God is a force, but not a puppetmaster or even capable of it. We do these things to ourselves....we create this horror and treat each other with cruelty and dehumanization. And there's not a damn thing God can do about it except be an "existence" to "for the WILLING to HEAR/FEEL/SEE". Lame God, huh? For many, sure. I don't blame people for not believing one bit. Nor do I have any judgment on it. For me, my God is "big" but my God is not capable of saving us from ourselves, unless we want to save ourselves and listen. That's the simplest way I can put it without going into Philosophical Theology like a Clairemont College Process Theology esoteric academic. Haha. Love you, Mo. Love you to the ends of the earth....which may be where we're headed. But I hope not.
Mo, Honestly, I did not know how much I needed to read and hum along with your rage.
Especially here, with such clarity, you wrote, “Lay it all down at our feet, and the world will finally get some sleep. The world would be fed. The world would be taught the real tools for survival. We would know our humanity again.”
I'm with you, Mo. I'm reminded of a quote by Gloria Steinem that reads: "Women grow more radical with age. One day an army of grey-haired women will quietly take over the earth." I will join them, being an old Grandma myself. 😊 🌟 💜
Women grow more radical with age, and it's about damn time we embrace that truth with unapologetic fervor! Gloria Steinem hit the nail on the head when she made this powerful statement. Throughout history, women have been conditioned to conform, to be docile and obedient, to suppress their voices and dreams for the comfort of others. But as we age, as we accumulate wisdom and experience, we shed the shackles of societal expectations and unleash our inner fire.
We are done with playing small.
No longer will we silently accept the limitations placed upon us. We refuse to be confined to narrow boxes of what society deems acceptable for women. We will not be silenced, diminished, or ignored. We will challenge the status quo, question the oppressive systems that hold us back, and demand the equality and justice we deserve.
With each passing year, we become bolder, stronger, and more determined to fight for our rights and the rights of all marginalized groups. We have witnessed the injustices, the discrimination, and the systemic biases that plague our world. We have had enough. We refuse to stand idly by and watch as our voices are dismissed and our contributions undervalued.
The fire within us burns brighter than ever.
We are the warriors, the trailblazers, and the change-makers. We carry the torch of progress and equality, and we will not let it flicker or fade. We will continue to break barriers, smash glass ceilings, and dismantle the patriarchal structures that have hindered our growth for far too long.
So, to all the women who have been told to be quiet, to tone it down, and to conform - let us shatter those expectations. Let us rise together, united in our passion and determination. Let us show the world that age is not a mark of weakness but a badge of strength.
We are not afraid to be radical. We are not afraid to challenge the norms. We are not afraid to demand change.
Because when women grow more radical with age, the world trembles with the force of our convictions. And together, we will create a future where equality, justice, and liberation reign supreme.
It's like how all-female comedy shows can get dark but never get DARK in that way where you're like "this is irredeemable." That's my main reference point for what you're describing about the difference in female-led enterprises. The EMPATHY which seems to be left out of the equation when males are in charge.
So true! Just like politics, religion divides us, and separates us from each other. The atrocities that man commits because of religion is mind boggling. Unfortunately, I don't see an end to this.
I stayed with the Goddess once I found Her. Women do need to rise up because men have proven repeatedly that they love more more than they love the world. I'm avoiding the news but I hear what's happening. I'm normally a pacifist but at times like this, I dream of women rising up one night and killing these evil men in their sleep.
I have the exact same image in my head....the women being raped and paraded and cheered. by on lookers. That is barbic and begs questioning any god. The recorded messages tear me apart also., a samll boy begging "I'm too youong to be taken." I can hear womens' hearts break around the world. To say nothing of the children shot in front of their mothers. There is no breath after that. You wrote the right words this morning.
I wish we could see what would have been, had the Devil Trump been defeated by Hillary Clinton (as it should've been). I wish Liz Cheney would fight harder than she is, as she 'gets it' and isn't letting her political party blindly dictate her actions like the other zombies. And in general, John Lennon's song told it like it was, is, and shouldn't be: Woman is the N***** of the World. I'm right there with you, Mo.

I think it's one of the anthems for women... when {Beyonce says} 'you,' you could be life, you could be a person, you could be a situation You will not break my soul. I can endure."

Prez of my 168 girl sorority at UCBerkeley. I keep abreast of what is going on and I feel guilty I didn't pursue it. I sat with Feinstein in her Marin house after a fundraiser. I don't know the way forward but those of us who do see and feel must express what we emote and innovate even though enervated.
More women have to wake up from the stupor imposed on them by social strictures (you get married, "settle down," have kids). When you have the role of mother to play, there's hardly room for anything else, let alone ambitions for yourself. In fact, if you do have any ambitions, you need to sideline them for a while (until the kids can manage on their own) and if you do venture outside the mommy realm, there's all the guilt and social castigation to deal with.

Thank you for this. Yes, we are the keys. Collectively we need to stop pretending we’ve lost them. Thanks for the boost ❤️

Oh my goodness, this is beautiful 🥰🥰
Thank you. My heart hurts today.
I’m 100% with you on this on all of this. God is manmade fiction used to control the masses.

Peter, your words touched my heart.
In the realm of doubt and belief,
I find solace in the space between,
Where God's essence resides,
Neither an old man with a white beard,
Nor a cold impersonal force.
Long ago, I relinquished the dissonance,
Between the world's horrors and God's existence,
For my God, the one I hold dear,
Lacks the power to unilaterally intervene.
No omnipotent puppetmaster,
But a humble presence, whispering softly.
The horrors we endure, we inflict upon ourselves,
In our cruelty and dehumanization,
God stands witness, a silent observer,
With no power to alter our course,
Except to exist, to beckon those willing,
To hear, to feel, to see.
Perhaps my God seems feeble,
A lame deity in the eyes of many,
And I hold no judgment or blame,
For those who do not believe.
But for me, my God is vast,
Yet impotent to save us from ourselves.
Only when we desire our own salvation,
And lend an ear to the divine call,
Can we hope to be redeemed,
This, in simple terms, is my truth,
Without delving into esoteric realms,
Of philosophical theology.
Love extends to you, to us,
Love that transcends the earthly bounds,
For in the end, it is where we may find
The completion of our unfinished verse.

Brilliant...Love the image of "the World can sleep". The Truth!
