I love this!!! Reminds me of when I was a barista in college and literally ate off of the tips from our barista tip jar. And the nights I woke up, tummy rumbling because I didn’t get enough tips to eat and refused to ask the boyfriend for grocery money. Pride is a double edged sword! But I’m proud of where I’ve gotten.
What you're asking for, Mo, is for people to put their "two cents in," which may or may not be archaic for offering unwelcome advice. Me, I may have a "two cents plain," which is archaic candy store or lunch counter lingo for a glass of seltzer.
I like to look back at how far I’ve come since I was young and broke. For me, I felt like I “made it” in life when I didn’t have to constantly worry about my car breaking down. That security is great.
The real question is why is it almost always a penny? I mean yes in my life I have found other coins and even paper money on the ground but it's like 92% pennies and 8% other monies. As a kid I thought it was because people just didn't really care if they dropped a penny but would pick up other ones. But now I feel, like you, that there is something more symbolic at work. Like maybe they really do come from Heaven or from someone who is not living on Earth thinking of you.
I'm sorry about your dog. My sweet ALF suddenly, traumatically and unexpectedly stopped living on Christmas evening 2022. I literally have at least one crying jag a day over missing him, even though I still have my other boy Rikki-Tikki-Tavi and I adopted Lili Marlene on Valentine's Day since I couldn't have Alfie back [which was what I really wanted.] Pets are so good. So endlessly good.
Fun to consider it may be something more symbolic!! I love that. And, yes, dogs are incredible. Sorry about Alf. I get it. Still mourning Charlotte, even as big Walter is sitting next to me right now. ❤️

Another Copper Truth Nugget for our Perspective Jar. Lincoln would be slowly nodding reading this, holding his chin.
Love it. ❤️
