Hey Mo, great to hear from you and thank you so much for your heartfelt letter! This world is really spinning around in a way that’s not so good. And I hope we come to realize with our real eyes the true reasons for this and how they can be resolved.
Outside of that, I recently got a new job, learning a lot and extremely grateful not to have to worry about cash flow (had been unemployed for the past three months and was getting really concerned). But universal mind came through for me in a most miraculous way.
Im so glad your healthy again! That’s such a blessing. And may you enjoy continued health for a long time.
What gives me faith? Knowing that there’s a Universal Mind (call it God/source/the great whatever) that we can connect with, that we can give up situations to to help resolve them in a way that’s perfect for us. Not only that, but that power is within us; it’s our Imagination and with it we can change our realities as long as we know how to use this wonderful thing.
What a blessing to have Sia sing to you! At a recent work party I had the audacity to try and sing “Chandelier” on a karaoke machine, inspired by the cover that the artist Puddles Pity Party does (you’d love it).
For music, try listening to “Mysterious Land” on You Tube by Chris Lam and the Universals. Make sure you’re on a nice stretch of open road and let it rip. You can’t help but feel you’re a badass of your own movie.
Anyway that’s all I got for now.
P.S. love watching replays of you and Michael McDonald on Mad Tv. If ever I need a good belly laugh, I watch them. Love watching you guys trying not to break.
Thank you for the return letter!! Things sound lovely on your end, and I am so happy for you!!! Will check out your Mysterious Land! I always say if a song can drive with you, it’s a hit. The old car test! Nice!! Continued good fortune to you!! XoMo ❤️
I've become increasingly reclusive which is very out of character.k Glad to see somone is getting out and having fun. Check out this fabulour Robbie Robertson uplifting song with people around the world.
I want to thank you for sharing your truth with your readers. You are an uncommonly beautiful woman and human being. You standing on a rock with So Cal Mtn’s as a backdrop dressed in beautiful gown embracing the world with love is an amazing gift. I loved your dinner with Sia and her music was/is such powerful healing music for you choked me up. Sharing your recovery reinforces others recovery efforts too. Thank for all you do. PS your Postcard from Paradise to me was the best ever.
I'm glad your family is well! It can be so cathartic to step away. I can understand the tendency to isolate as I do the same, thanks to stupid health issues, but I try to at least talk to people online! It's still socializing in my book! Ohhhh faith! I thought I didn't have much of that until a few healing psychedelic experiences! Some 'medicines' lead to similar places that I've experienced near death. It's like going to the same party, but entering through a different door! haha Now, my personal faith is just an expansion of what I have seen and experienced, which is basically that everything comes together as one. You are exactly right about 'prayers'. It can seem like such an offensive word to some, but it's just an intention put out into the universe like spells! Religions are like branches of a tree with different names for similar energies/beings/whatever, some with a greater understanding of the whole tree as opposed to just their one small branch. WOW, what an experience with SIA!!!! AHHHH she is one I would be starstruck over! I first heard 'Breathe Me' on the finale of Six Feet Under and fell in love with her music. Her lyrics are so relatable and powerful in such a cosmic way! One album I highly recommend would be Chris Cornell's 'Higher Truth' album. That is one album that gets me right 'in the feels', just like Sia's music does.
I love all of this!! The tree!! Yes! And I am, of course, wanting to hear more of your psychedelic experiences! And that door!! Amazing! Huge Cornell fan here too. Yes. And fell hard for Sia on that finale!!!! Oofa!!! ❤️
I loved Six Feet Under so much. I actually just got the Six Feet Under hearse cd player recently! lol I wrote a blog post about my experiences but I deleted it while in the middle of a hiring process, then I realized they do not give any fucks about who they hire so I republished it, but added a password just in case haha (pw is shrooms) https://crazylifeandmind.wordpress.com/2023/10/20/taking-a-trip-down-memory-lane/
I read this because I was curious; I liked it even better after reading it. But you caught me off guard with the part about Sia singing. It resonates, because I can relate. Not to cancer -- no, that would suck -- but because I know the pain of a broken, shattered heart, and when I read something like that, it's usually a trigger. I don't mind triggers. I don't always go out of my way to avoid them, either. They remind me that I'm fucking human. They remind me that a 45 year friendship, and the trauma that ended it -- the horror of having been a part of it -- those are things that I WANT to hold on to. Those are things that we all need.
I LOVE THIS!! Yes! Not all triggers are bad! We’re so lucky to have memory as part of our human experience. Albeit sometimes painful, it is indeed a reminder of our humanness. (Is that a word?😂) Thanks for reading!
Why is that I am now a blubbering mess of tears after reading that... yeah... No one ask that question much any more.. "how are you doing" well, right now I'm just crying after that. Love you and your heart
Oh thank you! This is the conversation I’ve been missing. I am grieving the loss of a 40-year friendship (a victim of the last several years’ events turning me into anger-looking-for-a-reason).
I’m learning tho. We can do only what we can do as the world spins out of control. Breathe. Cry. Console. Breathe some more.
I recommended a podcast in a recent post; it's an interview with Esther Perel, who talks about something called AI: Artificial Intimacy, along with some of what you've written about here, Mo. If you want to listen: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/israel-hamas-war-search-for-a-speaker-and-guest-esther-perel/id1073226719?i=1000631198626
Esther’s interview begins at 47:45. xo
Thanks for the recommendation!! ❤️
Mo! You and Val should be friends. Trust old E. Jean!
Val Knows All!
And thank YOU for this recommendation!! Friends it is!! Val knowing all pairs perfectly with me knowing very little. HA! XO
E. Jean Carroll and Esther Perel know all! xo

For me, triggers are healing. It means I'm starting to get things back under control, but in order to do that, I have to let go. That's the hard part. This is my trigger... https://open.substack.com/pub/benwoestenburg/p/it-was-an-accident-steve?r=254e8w&utm_campaign=post&utm_medium=web
I apologize in advance.
Grrrrrrl, I love you!

Lotta tears these days, eh? Remember, it says a lot about your heart, and its goodness. Keep fostering that goodness. You're aces at it!!! XOXO
